So, I have a ton of pictures from the year. I have put the best ones on a database that is accessable through the internet. However, for protection you can only see these pictures if I send you an invitation via email. So, if you want to have the ability to see these pics, you need to email me. mailto:whatwouldmrjaydo@gmail.com This is the only way that I can mark you as an individual that has the right to view the pictures. Of course, you'll have to sign-up for flickr (the host site). I suggest that you don't use any personally information except maybe your first name. Please keep that in mind. It's free to join but don't use real information, please.

Report Cards

I will begin entering data for report cards on Tuesday. If you have any outstanding materials that need to be marked, you should get them in by Tuesday. If you are unhappy with your math mark you may redo assignments and homework sheets that I will remark. This might be a good opportunity for those that handed in very poor math worksheets previously. Unfortunately, these have to be in by Tuesday. If you need to know what homework and assignments you have outstanding for me, email me and I'll send you your profile for both math and science.

Friday, June 10th

We did more stuff on triangles, specifically Pythagorean's Theorem. Remember that the longest line on a triangle is called the hypoteneuse and it is always opposite the right angle of the triangle. Pythagorean's Theorem is a^2 + b^2 = c^2, where c is always the length of the hypoteneuse. So, it is important for you to think about what each letter in the equation represents. It is NOT okay just to randomly designate a triangle length to each letter of the theorem. The c MUST always represent the longest side of the right triangle. So, if you know the longest line of the triangle but not one of the shorter sides, you know c and a or b. If you know the lengths of two sides of a right triangle but not the hypoteneuse, then you know a and b but NOT c. You can replace a and b with numbers and will find the value of c.

The end is almost near but we still have to finish geometry. Believe you me, we can and will keep you in for I week if we don't think you are meeting the Provincial Learning Outcomes concerning geometry.

Homework is the geometry sheet on angles and triangles. Today, I handed out a worksheet for Pythagorean's Theorem. If you have questions about what Pythagorean was trying to do, come see me during tutorial.

Homework is worth 25% of your grade. Grades have to be in by Wednesday so you only have a week to do your homework sheets and hand them in for grades. Otherwise, I'll have to evaluate them as zeros, I guess.

Room is still closed for lunch because the class is too messy. I hate messy and the class is messy. That's all for now.
